Nothing Political gives a space to works with a message regarding society and the role of the artist. The venue of Komplot is envisaged as a prolongation of the street in which new or existing works are shown by artists who integrate visually and conceptually the question of propaganda, advertisement, manifesto or pamphlet. The artists have worked around the idea of détournement, appropriation, the remake or the creation of an ambivalent object, in a variety of forms such as monument, video, poster, graffiti, strike placard, skate board ramp... The exhibition that was imagined as a political campaign with no voting, can be visited as a concrete garden in which one can let his imagination run for the next tour.

Philippe van Wolputte, GETTING OVER, video,  2' 16", B/W, 2009

Philippe Van Wolputte's video Getting Over is a remake of the opening scene of the independent movie Wild Style, which tells the story of a graffiti writer in the south-Bronx during the early 80's. The opening scene of this movie was the only scene that director Charlie Ahearne could get the money together to do properly (legally), the rest of the film was done 'on the run' - without permission. For this reason Philippe Van Wolputte decided to redo this opening scene,
without any funds, for The Zero Budget Biennial at Galerie Carlos Cardenas & Galerie schleicher + lange in Paris where he was invited by Komplot.
