David Neaud performing at the opening EN: Stadium IV (Brussels-ed. 3/17) by Freek Wambacq Komplots' invitation came at a time Freek Wambacq was thinking about copying the ancient marble starting line of the Olympia stadium in Greece. The space where the exhibition is organized, an abandoned garage, is only separated from the street by an iron shutter. The marble line parallel with the shutter counter balance the space as a departure, the sculpture has been inaugurated on the 27th of October 2007 and has been destroyed after the closing party on the 22nd of March 2008. The sculpture is named Stadium IV as the Olympia stadium was moved three times already in the 5th century B.C. The subtitle stands for the place where the particular segment of the line is produced, Brussels, followed by the edition, first 3 blocks of 17. Almost like an international pact, only extensions from different countries are considered valuable to complete the copy of the ancient line (17/17). ![]()
